During my usual tour of neo-confederate blogs and websites I stumbled onto this little slander of not only myself, but Kevin at Civil War Memory and Andy over at then newly begun Dead Confederates, over at LoS’s Rebellion blog. At the bottom of the post appears a picture I found on the internet…you know you can find just about anything on the net…of a person “cleaning a toilet with the confederate flag. Naturally I found the humor in this picture. The rebellion blog has been running posts every once and a while showing different ways people are flying their confederate flags…so naturally, I sent them my picture of the toilet cleaning confederate flag.
In a childish effort to embarrass me, Old Rebel over at the Rebellion blog did a little photoshop work on the above photo. Notice the “Hustler” on the bottom right. This is not the first time “lost causers” at the LoS have tried to paint me as a “reader of pornography”, several years ago if you searched my old pen name “Billy Yank”, you got hits for some porn site where “I-someone using Billy Yank” had commented over 900 times on certain pictures. I then proceded to post short messages on the same site using a pro-southern name to prove how easy it is to hijack whatever you wanted to make up whatever you wanted. This is just more of the same childish B.S.!

But the attached picture seems especially revealing of the mindset and dismal life of an anti-Southern blogger. He sent it to me as a snarky submission to the “Flags of the Rebellion” feature. It is very obvious he did not use the delete button! Thanks for speading that picture around more than I could have. I have not been able to find the orginal source of the picture since I first found it…now it should spread like wildfire once your “lost causer” buddies get there paws on it.

How…interesting to run into you again, Billy. Just some quick questions. (1) How do you know YOU are the only one who sent said photo to Old Rebel? (2) How do you know it wasn’t already photoshopped by parties unknown before it was sent to him? (3) Got any proof you didn’t photoshop the porn mag in the pic yourself so you can CLAIM Old Rebel was setting you up? (4) Where did you just happen to find this photo? Google has a terrible time trying to find it. Did you perhaps “find” it on the display of, say, your own digital camera?
You see, Billy, before you go around accusing people of things, realize that your accusations will have more impact only if it is absolutely certain you’re not doing the same thing yourself.

To answer your questions…
1. I don’t know that I am the only one…but I doubt many readers of the LoS’s blog sent that to them. Plus Old Rebel included my blog in the post…so it’s just a hunch.
2. I don’t deny sending him the picture…I wanted to show my rebel colors to the rebel community…but as you can see from this post what the picture looked like as I found it on the web…and I cant seem to find it online anymore, but that is not my concern…and you then can see that Old Rebel doctored it. Sure, I could be wrong, but I doubt it very much
3. Nope…no proof other than what I posted here…you will need to ask Old Rebel if he did the photoshopping or not. It is my word against his and I am sure you will believe him over me…but that is to be expected.
4. Again, I found it online somewhere but it appears to have been taken down since I cannot find it through the Google or Yahoo image searches. But then again it is my word against yours and we all know who you will believe despite my explanations.
Well Connie, there you go. And since your such a defender of the Lost Cause and all things southern…why not complain to these people…they are doing more than just photoshopping…

Old Rebel included several blogs as illustrative of hatred for Southerners by anti-Southerners; he didn’t specifically identify any of them as the one that sent the photo.
Now you can’t find the photo as you SAY it looked when you sent it (smirk). Why am I not surprised?

Once again you can either take my word for it or not. What Old Rebel posted over at the LoS blog is the doctored version of that photo…how do I know…because as I said in my earlier reply…I sent him that photo…but without the Hustler photoshopped in. But this is all useless because you are of the opinion that Old Rebel is one of those “southern gentlemen” in your fairy tale books and would never stoop to that level. I have news for you!

Corey, if you really did “find” that photo on the web, there’s no way for you to know that you were the only one who “found” and sent it to Old Rebel. Other people could have “found” and sent it, too. Moreover, someone could have sent him a “doctored” version; there’s no way you can know that he did it. You’re the one making assumptions, not I.

Again, thanks for stopping by Connie. Either way the picture was doctored and that is that…I am not too concerned with Old Rebel…he is harmless…and so are you for that matter!
It’s not the Hustler that bothered me. It’s the red-ish coloring on the book by the toilet. You really have to be more careful about where you throw those tampons.
