Sure is good to be loved…Here is what they are complaining about.
…You make the necessary connections as you see fit.
Recently, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) posted a story about Michael Cushman (Palmetto Patriot), the founder of the Southern Nationalist Network, which dealt with Cushman’s recent election to State Chairman of the South Carolina League of the South. (Just a quick side note, let us remember that recently South Carolina’s Miss USA pageant contestant reminded the entire country the 20% of the homes in South Carolina have wheels…Hmmmm!) It seems that on the League of the South’s Facebook page there were many who congratulated Cushman not only for his new chairmanship, but for being singled out by the SPLC.
It seems that the SPLC has a history of keeping an eye on Cushman ever since he was a dues paying member of the National Alliance…a Neo-Nazi organization.
The comments are quite telling
You will notice a few names that are familiar to the ranks of the Neo-Confederates… Pat Hines…who would like to see Yankee School Children die, Jared Shipley and wait…is that Valerie Protopapas…why yes it is. Lets hop on over to her Facebook site and see what is up.
What an interesting group of friends…
Skidmark Billeaudeaux… the person whose sister is fighting his battles by emailing my employer. Jared Shipley, Palmetto Patriot, Susan Hathaway, Billy Bearden, Connie Ward and Connie Chastain…who still carries a link to the League of the South on her blogs, Carl Roden and David Tatum.
You will notice that Susan Hathaway is friends of Valerie who has commented on the SPLC’s ”hit piece” on Cushman. Valerie is a big supporter of the Va. Flaggers despite living in New York. Now it can be assumed that both Valerie and Susan have done their homework on Cushman…right? But despite what I believe they know about him the chose not to believe it. Susan Hathaway has even appeared on one of SNN’s Podcasts with Michael Cushman. The company Susan and Still Karen are keeping in the list of podcasts is astounding…Matt Heimbach has appeared at least eleven times on the SNN Podcast. Yet Susan and the flaggers have not disavowed Heimbach or his beliefs.
Cushman writes a great deal about a “Golden Circle” on his site. I wonder if this is not a “Circle of Love” between like-minded individuals. One the public front for the other?
Once again, the SHPG on Facebook shows its true colors. Does this qualify under “I hate Yankees” enough for Connie Chastain…to find joy in the death of another human being…even a Yankee? Bill questions my ancestral heritage, but I can assure him that my ancestor, John Farmer was a member of the 60th Illinois Volunteer Infantry and served with honor in the Atlanta Campaign and the March to the Sea and into the Carolinas. He was mustered out just after the Burning of Columbia. John signed up on Feb. 21, 1862 and mustered out in March of 1865 after his enlistment expired and since the war was nearing an end he did not re-enlist. You can easily find his name among the several websites dealing with Illinois regiments during the war.
I find it very troubling that Carl would say such a thing about my ancestor despite the fact I have never made a comment about his direct ancestor(s) before or that Bill would question the accuracy of my genealogy. But I must remember who I am dealing with and be content with the knowledge I have and that they lack.
I have been noticing some trends in the comments of our Southern Hertiage folks, so I thought I would pass them along to my readers and see what you thought and had to say about them.
From the CIC of the Sons of Confederate Veterans…
“-Joseph Goebbels : “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Mr. Speilberg, me thinks he’s talking to you about your Lincoln propaganda film.”
“What I will offer Mr. Adams and the rest of this group is the opportunity to write a response to the specific claims made in this article that will be published on this blog. You can’t beat that. Historical interpretations are always in need of revision based on the gathering of additional sources or a counter-interpretation of existing evidence. This would be a wonderful opportunity to bring together the collective knowledge and wisdom of the entire group against their number one enemy. Best of all, they get to do it on this very blog. I look forward to reading and learning from their research on Silas.”
From John Stones… “Take a hike Corey! I’ve graduated from wasting my time on petty revisionists that are obsessed with themselves and the lies they’ve told for so long that they believe themselves! Levin can write all he wants in CW Times. It’s a PC rag that I give little credibility – even less now that they give the likes of Levin the kind of coverage they have, LOL – Too bad he broke copyright laws – OUCH!”
“I’m not interested in Silas Chandler specifically, or black Confederates in general, which I’ve made clear on my blog. Twice.”
“Tell you what, I will play your little game….provided you offer me a carefully written, flawless interpretation of the service of one Pvt. Henry “Dad” Brown a drummer for Co. H 21st SC CSA under your “slaves not soldiers” argument…oh and spare me the whole “musicians are not soldiers” argument as I can site numerous examples of Union drummers who were decorated during the course of the war and not least of which I can provide the details that black musicians in the Confederate army were recognized soldiers and granted equal pay with their white counterparts in 1862.
Well….. can you?”
