As you can see from the three tweets above, Southern Nationalists like “Dr.” Michael Hill of the League of the South and Michael Cushman of Southern Nationalist Network are not as concerned about Southern Heritage as they are Southern “White” Supremacy. Southern Heritage is purely a front for their disdain of everything American today and a wish to return to the days of the antebellum south. I personally find their views of history quite disturbing. What do you think?
Missing the ending…
The above picture of the George Wallace quote from 1963 appeared for a time as the footer image at Southern Nationalist Network run by Michael Cushmen (Palmetto Patriot) down in South Carolina. While it is no longer the footer it is still part of the images that are displayed with pride on Michael’s website. I was curious to the context of the quote so I did a simple google search for the first sentence and here is what I found.
Here is the quote in full context or at least the full paragraph…
“Today I have stood, where once Jefferson Davis stood, and took an oath to my people. It is very appropriate then that from this Cradle of the Confederacy, this very Heart of the Great Anglo-Saxon Southland, that today we sound the drum for freedom as have our generations of forebears before us done, time and time again through history. Let us rise to the call of freedom-loving blood that is in us and send our answer to the tyranny that clanks its chains upon the South. In the name of the greatest people that have ever trod this earth, I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny . . . and I say . . . segregation today . . . segregation tomorrow . . . segregation forever.”
It seems that Palmetto Patriot did a little convenient editing and forgot to put the most important part of that speech in his quote. But then again he does not want anyone to think his southern nationalist website is geared towards a certain color of southerner. It should also be noted that the League of the South and Connie Chastain/Ward endorse the SNN by linking to it on their sites.
There as been a flurry of activity on the net today between some of the history oriented bloggers and the Southern Heritage Drum-beaters. Brooks Simpson over at CWCrossroads has applied some heat on the true meaning behind the heritage crowd and has drawn the attention of some of it largest flunkies. I think a commenter on Michael Cushman’s SNN, Tony Gunter, had one of the best comments…
“Your YouTube channel is titled “RedShirtArmy” presumably after the 19th century militia that inflicted terrorism on African-American citizens in the south during the Redemption period. How can you take umbrage at Professor Simpson calling your organization racist? He is on much firmer ground calling you a racist than you are calling him a liberal.”
Keeping that comment in mind, I think it is also fitting the Brooks points out a certain League of the South video , posted by Michael Cushman from SNN, that actually called for the assassination of federal officials has been flagged as “offensive or inappropriate” by YouTube. It seems those who support “Flagging” got flagged!

During my usual tour of neo-confederate blogs and websites I stumbled onto this little slander of not only myself, but Kevin at Civil War Memory and Andy over at then newly begun Dead Confederates, over at LoS’s Rebellion blog. At the bottom of the post appears a picture I found on the internet…you know you can find just about anything on the net…of a person “cleaning a toilet with the confederate flag. Naturally I found the humor in this picture. The rebellion blog has been running posts every once and a while showing different ways people are flying their confederate flags…so naturally, I sent them my picture of the toilet cleaning confederate flag.
In a childish effort to embarrass me, Old Rebel over at the Rebellion blog did a little photoshop work on the above photo. Notice the “Hustler” on the bottom right. This is not the first time “lost causers” at the LoS have tried to paint me as a “reader of pornography”, several years ago if you searched my old pen name “Billy Yank”, you got hits for some porn site where “I-someone using Billy Yank” had commented over 900 times on certain pictures. I then proceded to post short messages on the same site using a pro-southern name to prove how easy it is to hijack whatever you wanted to make up whatever you wanted. This is just more of the same childish B.S.!

I receive more than my share of hate mail. It doesn’t bother me at all — that’s what the “Delete” key is for. But the attached picture seems especially revealing of the mindset and dismal life of an anti-Southern blogger. He sent it to me as a snarky submission to the “Flags of the Rebellion” feature. See if you don’t agree that we’re getting a glimpse into a shallow, unfulfilled life…
It is very obvious he did not use the delete button! Thanks for speading that picture around more than I could have. I have not been able to find the orginal source of the picture since I first found it…now it should spread like wildfire once your “lost causer” buddies get there paws on it.
UPDATE: Last night, er early this morning (2:30 am CST) the Bushwhacker called my cell phone and has been calling ever since. It appears that I have insulted his wife by placing a picture of the two of them sitting on a bus…smiling. Well, out of respect for Mrs. Bushwhacker, I have removed the picture. But this only goes to show how some people believe it is ok to drag family members into an online discussion and disagreement, but when the shoe is on the other foot they will go to great lengths to complain about it.
On the Missouri Bushwhacker site, my buddy has declared an end to the site, a similar fate shared by his brother’s blog, (see here) in order to devote more time to the Col. Coffee SCV camp site- Across Our Confederation. And, in true Neo-Confederate style he invokes old Bobby Lee…
After nearly four years of covering Missouri politics and National politics from a Southerner’s point of view. The Missouri Bushwhacker Blog, will soon be closing its doors so to speak.
Due to increased responsibility since becoming both the Press Officer and the Webmaster for the Colonel John T. Coffee Camp #1934 it has become increasingly difficult to maintain this blog as it should be.
Therefore, having to make a choice between giving my opinion and helping defend OUR Southern heritage, I have no choice, but to put my efforts into defending my heritage and my duty that I owe to my fellow camp members, as well as my fellow SCV members.
General Robert E. Lee once said, “Do your duty in all things”, which is why critics of this blog should not be elated. It means I will be doubling my efforts in improving , maintaining and expanding both the Colonel Coffee Camp #1934 blog and website.
Know that I have every intention of expanding the blog , not only to help keep my camp better informed, but to also make it a Free Press outlet so that ALL members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, can share their views and opinions, no matter what they are, without being censored.
